Summer Fun Starts Here – Explore, Create, and Learn at
TGR Learning Lab!

When the school year ends, learning and fun continue at the TGR Learning Lab. For students in grades 5th-12th, we offer full-day one-week STEAM camps where students can build skills aligned with their interests and explore career opportunities. Students in 2nd-4th grade can expand their skills while learning with other students in their community at our two-week academic bridge camps. Students in various high school grade levels can participate in half-day one-week college and career readiness academies.

College & Career Bound Academy – 10th & 12th Grade
This in-person program prepares high school students for academic and career success. The 10th grade track focuses on college readiness, career skills, and high school strategies, while the 12th grade track offers a one-week intensive on college admissions, financial aid, and four-year university planning through interactive workshops.
Vision Craft: Capturing Life Through the Lens
Step behind the lens and discover the art of storytelling. From mastering camera basics on Monday to snapping stunning headshots and portraits on Tuesday, you’ll dive into visual storytelling by midweek—creating short films or powerful photo presentations that bring your unique perspective to life. Get ready to shoot, edit, and share your vision with the world!
Digital Creators Camp
Step into the world of visual creativity! In this hands-on camp, students will become digital designers and branding pros as they invent their own product and bring it to life. From designing eye-catching posters and logos to filming and editing a commercial, students will learn the basics of digital design, branding, and video production using tools like Canva, Photoshop, and iMovie. Perfect for creative thinkers who want to see their ideas go from concept to screen.
Future Makers: 3D Design & Printing Camp
Design it, print it, fidget with it! In this hands-on camp, middle schoolers will become real-life inventors as they design, and 3D print their very own custom fidget toy. Using easy-to-learn design software, campers will turn their creative ideas into working models and watch them come to life on real 3D printers. As they tinker with shapes, test prototypes, and tweak their designs, they’ll build problem-solving skills and learn how inventors turn ideas into awesome products.
The Underground History of Philadelphia
In this one-week immersive course, students explore New York City’s hidden histories—from the Lenape and enslaved people to underground movements for justice. Through site visits, hands-on activities, and reflection, they’ll examine inclusion in public spaces and reimagine the Declaration of Independence for a more just and inclusive future.
Innovators’ Week: Fusing STEAM with a Team
Get ready to think big and build smart in Innovator’s Week: Fusing STEAM! Kick off the week with a thrilling Barbie Bungee jump to explore physics and math in action, then channel your inner engineer and artist in the Tiny Home Challenge— designing and pitching a dream house on a budget. Cap it all off by stepping into the real world with “Budget Boss,” where you’ll create a life-sized budget based on your future lifestyle and career goals!
Going Viral: Content Creation 101
Lights, camera, create! In this course, students become content creators— learning how to plan, film, and edit content for platforms like TikTok, YouTube, or Instagram. Whether it’s a vlog, PSA, tutorial, or comedy skit, they’ll build their own mini content channel using storytelling techniques, audio, and visual edits. This course blends creativity and media literacy while letting students express themselves and share their voice with the world.
Skyline Studios: Drone & Video Editing Camp
Get ready to fly and film! In this action-packed camp, middle schoolers will learn how to fly drones, shoot awesome videos from the sky, and turn them into cool mini movies. Campers will practice safe flying skills, learn how to frame shots like a pro, and then head into the editing lab to add music, effects, and titles to their footage. It’s the perfect mix of technology and creativity—and a whole lot of fun!
Spices to iPhones: Connecting the Continents
Why does your phone have parts from five different countries? What do cinnamon and silk have to do with your sneakers? In this immersive course, students will explore how trade has shaped our world—from ancient spice routes to today’s global tech supply chains. Through hands-on activities, games, and creative projects, we’ll uncover the surprising ways people, goods, and ideas have moved across continents for centuries.
The Power of Voice: Audio Creation Lab
Step into the sound booth and bring your voice to life! In this hands-on audio lab, students will explore the world of podcasting, audio storytelling, and creative sound design. Each day, students will create a different type of audio piece —from suspenseful stories and funny skits to mock interviews and real-life reflections. They’ll learn how to shape emotion through voice, build suspense with sound effects, and edit like a pro using Soundtrap and simple tools.
Code Commanders
Ever wanted to make a robot do your bidding? In this exciting camp, middle schoolers will learn how to write simple Python block code and use it to program rovers and drones to move in patterns, do tricks, and complete fun missions. No boring lectures here—just hands-on coding and problem-solving! Campers will discover how computers “think,” learn real coding skills, and have a blast turning their code into action. Great for curious minds who love tech, robots, or just seeing things move on their own.

Ever wonder how decisions made in Washington, D.C., affect the price of your clothes or the food you eat? In this course, we’ll spill the tea on the world of global politics, trade wars, and the power plays shaping our everyday lives. From Trump’s tariffs to the U.S.-China trade war, we’ll explore the big moves in global economics and how they impact everything from job markets to international relations.
Make It Mobile: App Design Challenge
Bring your ideas to life in Make it Mobile: App Design Challenge! Dive into the world of app creation by crafting wireframes, designing sleek mockups with tools like Figma and testing your app for real-world impact. By Thursday, you’ll pitch your app—built to solve tomorrow’s problems—with a strong personal brand and a polished presentation to match.
Drone Videography & Editing Lab
Elevate your creativity in this hands-on summer program where high school students learn to operate drones, capture aerial footage, and edit videos using industry-standard software. Ideal for aspiring filmmakers, digital media enthusiasts, and tech-savvy creatives.
Real Talk, Real World: Adulting 101
Step into adulthood with confidence in Real Talk / Real World, where you’ll gain the life skills school rarely teaches. From budgeting basics and credit smarts to meal prep, job interviews, and managing mental health, this class covers everything you need to thrive in the real world. With hands-on activities, mentor support, and honest conversations, you’ll walk away feeling prepared, empowered, and ready for whatever comes next.
Programming Drones with Python
Code. Fly. Repeat. In this advanced course, high school students learn Python by programming drones to complete real-world flight challenges. Perfect for those interested in robotics, engineering, or computer science.
