STEAM Programs

Explore subjects in Science, Technology, Engineering Arts and Math at the TGR Learning Lab after-school. Students can sign up for a variety of courses offered Monday through Thursday from 3:45 to 5:15 PM. These hands-on sessions will allow you to explore your interests while building practical knowledge and skills. Classes are free, but space is limited so register today!

MIC CHECK: INTRODUCTION TO MUSIC PRODUCTION - SPRING 2024-2025
Unleash your creativity and explore the art of music production! In this course, high school and middle school students will learn the basics of recording, editing, mixing, and mastering music using industry-standard software and equipment. Whether you’re a budding artist, producer, or just love music, this class will help you bring your musical ideas to life. Friends and family will be invited to attend our end of season open house on May 29th from 5pm – 7pm for a “TGR Album release Party” where they will get to hear the songs made by students in the class for the first time!
TALK THE TALK: INTRODUCTION TO PODCASTING - SPRING 2024-2025
Are you in middle school and interested in podcasting? Get ready to make your voice heard. Here you will learn the basics to get your podcast up and running through foundational concepts from planning, production and launch to long-term execution. At the end of the six-week course, friends and family will be invited to the lab for our end of season open house on May 29th from 5pm – 7pm to learn from their students and possibly even star in an interview!
FORENSIC FILES SPRING 2024-2025
Step into the world of forensic science in this thrilling 6-week course designed for high school and middle school students, where you’ll uncover the secrets of crime scene investigations using the 7 S’s: Secure, Separate, Scan, See, Sketch, Search, and Secure. From analyzing DNA, blood typing, fibers, and hair to examining fingerprints, you’ll put your skills to the test by solving a class mystery based on real-world cases. Parents and guardians will be invited to attend an end of season open house on May 29th from 5pm – 7pm where they will collaborate with their student to solve a crime!
MIND CRAFT: THE SCIENCE OF THE MIND (HIGH SCHOOL) - SPRING 2024-2025
In this exciting 6-week high school class, students explore the inner world of thoughts, emotions and unconscious habits through a series of hands-on investigations, mindfulness practices, and interactive group discussions. Our journey into the mind includes a dissection of an animal brain, analysis of superheroes’ distorted thoughts, psychology experiments, as well as exploration of different careers in neuroscience and psychology. At the end of this course, students will get the chance to show off what they learned to friends and family at our end of season open house on May 29th from 5-7pm.
OPEN MAKERSPACE - SPRING 2024-2025
Discover the world of hands-on innovation during Open Makerspace time! Learn how to safely use cutting-edge tools like 3D printers, laser engravers, CNC routers, and more, while bringing your creative ideas to life in a supportive environment. Open to middle and high school students with any level of experience, this is your chance to explore, create, and grow! Friends and family will have the opportunity to come into the lab to see what you have made at our end of season open house on May 29th from 5-7pm.
FRIDAY NIGHTS AT THE LAB

Friday Nights @ The Lab is the perfect way to kick off your weekend with friends, fun, and exciting activities! From epic video game tournaments to creative challenges, this event is all about hanging out, trying something new, and enjoying a relaxed vibe in the lab. Come for the games, stay for the laughs!

SATURDAY COMMUNITY FEST

The TGR Learning Lab is excited to welcome 1st-4th grade students to our monthly Saturday Community Fests! These are free drop off events that take place from 1-3 p.m. and offer crafts, games, special projects and guaranteed fun!

Sign up for one of our afterschool courses or academic support to become a member at the TGR Learning Lab! Membership is open to 6th-12th grade students and includes access to all programs and events offered throughout the year including weekends and summer.

If you need a quiet area to focus on your homework, have questions about a specific subject or need to access technology or resources to complete your school projects, Academic Support is a great opportunity for you.

Sign up is required to participate. After you sign up, you can access the space and services as much or little as needed throughout the session.

Makerspace

If you enjoy using your creativity and solving problems through innovative technology like 3D printers, laser cutters, sewing machines and Cricuts, come check out our Makerspace.
