HELPFUL DEFINITIONS

Accessing TractionRec
There are two ways to enter TractionRec:

  • The community page is the entry point for community members when registering or signing in to TractionRec.
  • The links used on the TGR webpage are deep links that when clicked, take users directly into TractionRec to explore the programs we offer. When using a deep link, all users access TractionRec through a guest account. If they select a program to sign up for, they will be prompted to sign in or register. This will be the primary way that users access TractionRec.

Registration and Membership

  • To register is to create an account with TractionRec.
  • You can also register for a program in TractionRec.
  • Students obtain a membership when they sign up for a course or academic support during that session. Once a membership is created during the session, they have access to designated Learning Lab spaces via their ID badges. “Membership” is used frequently on the website and in promotional materials. Put simply, this just means that a student is registered and has access to the lab during the session.

Households & Contacts

  • In TractionRec, community members will create a household account. This allows them to create and manage the contacts within their household.
  • In TractionRec, a contact is made for a single person. You can have multiple contacts under the same household account.

For example, a parent may create a household account with two contacts, one for each of their children.

Other Definitions to Know

  • The parent waiver is one of the required documents that must be electronically signed before a student can participate in programming at the Lab. Users will be prompted to complete this during the initial sign-up process. Once signed, the waiver is good for one year.
