College & Career Bound Academy

Open to a range of high school grade levels, College and Career Bound Academy is a one-week in-person summer academy with an emphasis on high school and college success. Learn what it takes to go to college and start a career with a variety of informative and interactive workshops including study habits, academic resume, college lists, personal statements, financial aid applications, company and university visits and more.

LAUNCHPAD: EXPLORING ENTREPRENEURSHIP - SPRING 2024-2025

Exploring Entrepreneurship introduces high school students to the fundamentals of business and entrepreneurship, equipping them to turn their ideas into actionable plans. Through hands-on projects in the makerspace, real-world case studies, and teamwork, students will learn key concepts such as branding, business planning, marketing, financial management, and effective communication. At the end of this course, students will get the chance to take part in a “Shark Tank” competition at our end of season open house on May 29th from 5-7pm for a chance to earn real money for their business!

BUILDING TOMORROW: INTRO TO ROBOTICS - SPRING 2024-2025

This engaging course introduces high school students to the fascinating world of robotics and the exciting career opportunities in this cutting-edge field. Through hands-on projects, students will design, build, and program robots while developing essential skills in critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration. They’ll also explore how robotics is shaping industries such as healthcare, engineering, and space exploration. At the end of this course, students will get the chance to show off what they learned to friends and family at our end of season open house on May 29th from 5-7pm.

COMMUNICATE WITH CONFIDENCE WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed to simulate professional scenarios relevant to high school students. Students will analyze social situations and develop professional, assertive responses to conflicts, equipping them with skills to navigate challenging interactions in various environments. The program is open to high school students in the 2024-2025 academic school year.

MASTERING YOUR RESUME WORKSHOP

This workshop is intended to prepare students to craft their own academic and/or work resume through analyzing the quality of various resumes. They will review techniques that lead to quality resumes to meet their needs. The program is open to high school students in the 2024-2025 academic school year.

SCHOLARSHIP CASE STUDY WORKSHOP

This workshop guides students through the process of evaluating a scholarship applicant from an institutional perspective. Students will learn how to assess applications based on the unique priorities, values, and criteria of the institution. Students will become members of the scholarship selection committee, helping them understand how decisions are made beyond just individual qualifications. The program is open to high school students in the 2024-2025 academic school year.
