DoD STEM Ambassador Program

In partnership with DoD STEM, TGR Foundation manages the STEM Ambassador Program, which recognizes outstanding educators and promotes STEM learning across the country. DoD STEM Ambassadors are carefully chosen by the Department of Defense STEM Education Consortium (DSEC) and DoD STEM based on their commitment to working with students who have been historically underrepresented in STEM and/or are military connected.

Ambassadors serve a one-year term and participate in a variety of professional development and community building.

5th-12th Grade Field Trips

Our one-day field trips for 5th-12th graders allow students to participate in a variety of hands-on, project-based STEAM workshops to expand their skills and provide exposure to new subjects, college readiness and career possibilities. From digital photography to food chemistry to design thinking, there is something for everyone at the TGR Learning Lab in Philadelphia.

College Access & Success

To support students who are interested in going to college, we offer comprehensive support through financial aid and college preparatory workshops and intensives. Our programs are designed to equip students with the necessary information and tools to navigate the path to higher education successfully. From college tours, admission officer visits and guest speakers, our programs empower students to make informed decisions about their post-secondary plans.

Mobile Programming

Our mobile programs bring exciting lessons and activities to students ensuring students are exposed to new concepts and career possibilities. The TGR Learning Lab will collaborate with schools to integrate a variety of subjects including:

Computer Science

Rocketry
Circuitry
Intro to Epidemiology

Early Education

The TGR Learning Lab partners with local elementary schools to offer tutoring support, Math Family Enrichment Nights, bi-monthly Community Fests and summer STEAM academic bridge camps.

Career-Connected Learning

As high school students prepare for life after graduation, our career-connected learning opportunities provide exposure, skills and direction to help them align their passions with meaningful careers. From guest speakers to job-shadowing experiences, our programs empower students to make informed decisions about their post-secondary plans.

Educator Training

The TGR Learning Lab in Philadelphia is excited to support local schools, colleges and organizations through professional learning opportunities. Grounded in best practices, we support teachers to bring student centered, inquiry-based skills and lessons to the classroom. Professional development opportunities can be hosted at local schools, virtually or at the TGR Learning Lab.
